Dear Michelle:
I had written you a few weeks about the concerns about my father who is 64 and had a stent put in last year. My father's blood pressure kept getting higher lately even thought he is on a lot of blood pressure medicine. Worse yet my father's multiple doctors all seem to be almost ignoring his pleas about the sluggish and poor way all of the medications made him feel. My fathers current cardio doctor did not communicate to him well and seem to be taking a wait and see pace with my dad's care. I was pretty scared when I reached out to you on Empowher that he may have a heart attack. I owe you a dept of gratitude for referring my father to Dr. Shukla. My father met with Dr. Shukla last Friday. Both my parents were so grateful for the information that Dr. Shukla gave them. My parents walked in with a full sheet of questions to ask Dr. Shukla that they had never been able to get answered by their other doctors. Dr. Shukla spent over 20 minutes talking to them and answering
questions. I can't remember the last time I ever spent this kind of time talking to any doctor. My parents now have a new found understanding of my Dad's heart condition, as well as new optimism they will get him back to health with the new information/care from Dr. Shukla.
In addition I would like to send a Big THANK YOU to Dr. Shukla and his staff for the care and information they gave my father. Their kindness can't begin to be expressed in this note.
I guess this is what Empowher is all about, women helping women-Thanks Kelley
