Irma Breakfield, MFT

Irma is a Los Angeles native. She has been a therapist for over fifteen years, working with a variety of specializations ranging from conflict resolution using the Metta™ method to chemical dependency.

Irma has brought her skills to the classroom as a professor educating emerging therapists entering the field of psychology. She has taught at both community colleges and universities. She is also a founding member of the non-profit agency One Voice and has shaped their college access program serving the needs of low-income, high-achieving students who are attending private colleges across the country.

Irma also helped build families through the adoption process as an adoption social worker working within the adoption triad, educating families on developmental issues, and family adjustment.

Irma has brought her expertise, joy, enthusiasm, and life experiences to radio listeners nationwide through her own radio show “The Breakfield Report” 2000 to 2004 and as a co-host on “Sex, Religion and Love,” in 2008 based out of Los Angeles.
