Develop a Routine

The caregiver assumes the responsibility of bathing, dressing and sometimes, feeding the person whom she is caring for. Plan in advance, making sure you have everything ready and available, be patient and consistent in your routine. This can help both of you cope with the activities of daily living.

Devoting oneself to the care of a chronically ill or disabled child, spouse or parent can be physically and emotionally overwhelming. It is essential for you, as a caregiver, to take care of yourself, get the support you need and remember that you are not alone.
