This one actually is true, but not in the way you might think. You might think that having a baby will bring you and your partner closer together and increase your love for each other. In actuality, most first time parents often feel alienated from their partner and sense immense stress in the relationship.

The way it’s true is that once you have a baby together, your lives are forever tied together, and you probably will think twice before ending your relationship. You also may work harder to keep the relationship together for the child you share.

In a healthy relationship, having a child together can make you have feelings of “falling in love” again (new-mom endorphins, anyone?), but it may be strained by feelings of inadequacy in regard to caring for your newborn.
