Relationship experts say both men and women make plenty of sex mistakes. Here are some sex mistakes women make and how to avoid them.
1. Waiting for men to initiate sex.
Examiner.com wrote that both men and women need to feel desired. By forcing men to constantly initiate sex, they can feel less desirable. Take the first step from time to time.
WebMD.com said that your partner will appreciate it and you’ll find new satisfaction in taking responsibility for your sexual experience.
2. Worrying about body image.
Examiner.com wrote that women who constantly put off sex because of unhappiness about their looks put up emotional barriers in a relationship. FoxNews.com said that if you’re not embracing your figure and sexual nature, you’re not flaunting one of your biggest assets, and that’s you.
Walk around naked. Have sex with the lights on. Embrace the skin you’re in. This will boost your sex comfort.
3. Expecting men to perform on demand.
eHarmony.com wrote that men don’t have an instant “on” switch. Stressors such as work, money and family can affect a man’s sex drive, wrote Examiner.com. Women tend to feel his "lack of interest" is because of his unhappiness with her. Don't take it personally.
4. Expecting men to read your mind.
Men can’t read your mind. eHarmony.com suggested that you let your partner know how he can please you. Be specific and concrete. Show him. Gentle but clear direction will be greatly appreciated.
5. Being unresponsive during sex.
FoxNews.com gave this advice. Don’t just lie there -- make noise and don’t be afraid to talk dirty. eHarmony.com said that women should learn to get comfortable outside of their comfort zones. It may help you discover new pleasures, and your partner will love you all the more for it.
6. Overreacting when he suggests something new.
LifeScript.com reminded that routine can get boring. Men like to try new things. This isn’t a criticism of you. It’s simply a craving for variety.
The best part? He wants to try something new with you.
7. Judging his use of pornography.
FoxNews.com wrote that unless you’ve been replaced by his use of pornography, don’t give him a guilt trip for it. Instead of seeing it as a threat, see it as an enhancement -- one you can possibly share.
8. Talking during and after sex about complaints, schedules, and problems.
eHarmony.com said that many women use sex as the opportunity to talk about these subjects. Don’t. Stop any non-sexy talk.
9. Analyzing any malfunction by his genitals.
LifeScript.com cautioned that unless it is an ongoing problem, don’t turn it into a big deal. Examining the psychology of it and what it means only makes the situation worse.
