Sex with an Uncircumcised Man?

Columbia University’s Go Ask Alice column reported that in the past fifty years, roughly 56 percent of American male infants have been circumcised. That leaves a lot of men who aren’t, and a lot of women who may be confused about sex with uncircumcised men.

A Men’s Health Magazine columnist, Debby Herbenick, M.P.H., Ph.D. said, "Even if a woman isn't used to uncircumcised men, just as you become familiar with anything in the world, you see it a few times, touch it, and talk to your partner about how [he] wants to be touched."

The difference between a circumcised and uncircumcised penis is simple. Go Ask Alice wrote that the foreskin, which is highly sensitive, surrounds the head (also known as the glans) of the uncircumcised penis like a sleeve.

According to the website, The Frisky, getting to the head means gently pulling down on the foreskin with a thumb and index finger, exposing the glans. When erect it looks like a circumcised penis. However for some uncircumcised men, the foreskin doesn't completely retract when erect.

Go Ask Alice cautioned, as the foreskin is very delicate, it should be handled carefully. If your partner experiences any pain when trying to retract the foreskin, stop!

In Men’s Health, Ian Kerner, Ph.D., a sex therapist and author said, “the foreskin contains nerves, and if you roll it back and forth, it stimulates the frenulum," which is the one of the most sensitive parts of the penis.

An Ezine article asked several women why they believe an uncircumcised penis is better for sex. Many responded it’s easier to masturbate their partner due to foreskin sliding back and forth without restriction. Others said there is greater sensitivity for both male and female and a greater sensation when performing oral sex.

During intercourse, oral sex and masturbation, Go Ask Alice said the retracted foreskin acts like a lubricant or a sleeve. As the penis thrusts, it glides on its own bedding of movable skin, which minimizes friction. The column advised try experimenting.

Since the foreskin is so sensitive, it can be pleasured just like any other sensitive body part. Using the tongue or the fingers to stimulate the foreskin and the head is often extremely pleasurable for men.

iVillage said safer sex can be a concern for uncircumcised men. Sometimes, they have difficulty finding the right condom or keeping one on during penetrative sexual activity. With a proper fit and ample lubrication, that problem can be alleviated.

Men’s Health wrote that whatever the penis situation, sex experts say, make the most of what you have.

I am a woman with an intact partner, whom has also slept with multiple cut partners previously and fully feels that foreskin is beneficial for both partners. It is not extra. It is a wonderful body party with a ton of nerves. Like the labia.
Woman get far more yeast infections and UTIs than any male intact or otherwise.
Foreskin typically means he also has his frenulum intact which is both a cluster of nerves, but also pulls down as he thrusts and allows the glans to become movable and stimulate the Gspot.
Foreskin is something both men and woman have. It keeps the glans safe and able to lubricate. I can personally say that sex with an intact partner, for me, feels better.

Ladies. What if your clitoris was exposed forever and allowed to callous over. It wouldnt be nearly as comfortable. Same idea, only the penis is a much larger surface area.

Another difference is hygiene. Guys who are uncircumcised need to make sure their foreskins are cleaned out every day. Bacteria collects down there and can lead to infections and even odors that are usually undetectable to the guy. Using a penis health creme that contains Vitamin A is an easy way to make sure there are no odor-causing bacteria living down there. There are other benefits to using one of these cremes too so check 'em out fellas. Cheers.

Whether cut or intact, a man needs to make sure his penis's health is getting the attention it requires. More men would benefit from using a top notch penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil) that can help with common issues like organ odor, dry/flaky skin, loss of sensation, member blood flow, etc.

Yes Hugh the circumcision bias in this article is astounding. The foreskin is there for a reason, use it. Do NOT merely "pull it back to get to the head" as this article suggests.

Anonymous, I have 5 fingers/toes on each hand/foot. I'm curious as to which one is "extra"?

And I am curious to know how your question is in any way related to my comment.

The fraction of adult Americans who are circumcised is much greater than 56% and more like 80%. In many parts of the USA, white males born in hospitals to parents who were not poverty-stricken, are 95%+ circumcised. Many intact males in the USA are sociologically marginal in one way or another. This situation is a major difference between American and European sexuality. In Europe, most circumcised men are Moslems or tribal Africans.

The main sexual advantage of not circumcising is that circumcised men tend to perform intercourse more aggressively, in ways that some women do not enjoy. Intact men, because they have more feeling, go about it more slowly and gently. Some women say that feeling his foreskin move back and forth inside them gives them a thrill. The intact penis interacts nicely with his and her natural lubrication. The extra feeling and foreskin motion also mean that intact with condom is more fun for him and her than is cut with a condom.

And ladies, let me assure you of one thing: it is very easy to seduce an intact man. Simply "pump" his foreskin, and he will soon rise to the occasion. If further stimulation is required, stroke his intact frenulum. Finally, learning about the sexual value of the natural penis requires paying close attention to the testimony of women who have been intimate with both kinds of men.

It is certainly a step forward that a foreskin is not being treated as problematic, but there's always room for improvement, starting with the word "uncircumcised" which treats having part missing as the norm. The word of choice is "intact".

None of the above experts seems to have any first-hand experience of owning his own foreskin! Why is The Frisky so intent on "getting to the head"? Does Dr Kerner not know that the frenulum is at the beginning and end of the ridged band of nerves that encircles the inside of the foreskin? The frenulum only becomes important when all of that has been cut off.

Yes, the foreskin itself is highy sensitive, but differently from the head (glans) contributing "a symphony of sensation". Some men can reach orgasm using nothing else, so it should be treated not so much "like any other sensitive body part" but like the unique body part that it is.

being British I must say that I had never seen a circumcised penis till I came here and I was, frankly, horrified :( I did not know how to manipulate it for foreplay ??? there is no sheath to move ???? suddenly and for the first time, I understood all the little references I had seen in American films, like the ever present bottle of cream in a masturbation scene, that had never made sense to me and I simply didn't connect the cream to masturbation. (being as how an unmutilated male has no need) An unmutilated member is so sensitive that even blowing air on the penis head is exquisitely sensitive, I find mutilated penis to be ugly and I am very sad for the women who have been brainwashed to accept such a pitiful remnant as acceptable :( not to mention the males who justify their mutilation :( it is all so very sad and unnecessary. :(
