Peter LePort M.D.

I am a general surgeon with special training and more than 20 years of experience as a weight-loss surgeon. At my Orange County, CA bariatric surgery practice, I have helped hundreds of people regain control of their lives through surgical weight loss. I received my Doctorate of Medicine degree and completed my surgical training, including bariatric training, in Brooklyn, New York, at Downstate Medical College. I also served as an assistant professor at Downstate for two years prior moving to California.

In 1985, I started a medical practice and surgical weight loss program in California to help obese patients lose significant weight and regain control of their lives. I felt that I had a special responsibility to improve the health and well-being of severely obese patients with my skills as a surgeon.
I am currently a faculty member of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Orange County Surgical Society as well as the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons (ASMBS).
