Like many women, I have had my own pre-occupation with body image, weight gain or weight loss, and my own perception of beauty and health for most of my adult life. Over the years, I have bought nearly every diet book published since 1988 (the year I gave birth to my first child and gained 50 lbs during pregnancy). Prior to giving birth to Julian, my first son, I had no issues with my weight and could eat anything I wanted and never gain an ounce. But at the age of 25, I began my journey into the world of diet and nutrition, seeking guidance on weight loss, post-pregnancy. In the process, I developed a genuine interest and passion for diet and nutrition, health and wellness, and the power of food in overall wellness.

Fast forward 25 years, with my oldest son Julian now 24, and my youngest son Dominic now 20, I have somehow accumulated 25 years of self-education in diet, nutrition and wellness, with a particular emphasis on weight loss, using myself for R&D (research and development). I have lost and gained many pounds over the years, managing to find my healthy weight in my early 30s and maintaining it throughout my 30s. But my 40s brought new discoveries about metabolism, hormonal changes, and the evolution of a maturing woman.

I decided to embark on a more formal education in holistic health and I received my training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I was trained in more than one hundred dietary theories and studied a variety of practical lifestyle coaching methods. Drawing on this knowledge, I help individuals create a completely personalized "roadmap to health" that suits their unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and goals.

Now at 49, I'm well grounded in the beauty of mid-life, and entering what I like to call the "wisdom years" that begin at 50. My life's journey has bestowed many wisdoms about diet, nutrition and wellness. My holistic health practice is my expression of those wisdoms that I share with others of any age.

Inspiration

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?" -- Marianne Williamson
