Dr. Karen Horton is a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon in San Francisco specializing in surgery for women.

Karen graduated from Medical School at the University of Toronto, completed a five-year Plastic Surgery Residency, and settled in San Francisco after completing Reconstructive Microsurgery.

Dr. Horton specializes in breast cancer reconstruction. An invited guest speaker at meetings throughout the United States, Dr. Horton educates, empowers and informs women about reconstruction without sacrificing major muscles of the body, and with the least number of stages.

Dr. Horton’s other areas of expertise include breast reduction, lift and augmentation. She specializes in “mommy makeovers” to rejuvenate a Mom’s breasts and body (tummy tucks, liposuction) following completion of child-rearing.

Dr. Horton has published review book chapters, presented at scientific meetings, and has won research awards. She has been featured on television, participates as an active member of many professional associations and serves as a mentor to young surgeons in training.

Outside of surgery, Karen pursues physical fitness and is an avid runner.
