Thirteen years ago I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia after the very hard birth of my child. Deciding that medication and feeling crappy wasn't so great, I spent a decade researching and trying out various therapies, working with doctors and researching on my own, natural cures. It worked; I no longer have FMS, a kitchen sink syndrome once thought to be a forever condition.
I battled post-partum depression and other monthly mood issues, partially due to a benign pituitary disorder I have called Empty Sella Syndrome. And for the most part, my monthly mood changes are minor thanks to some extraordinary holistic practitioners and my determination to feel the way I wanted to feel, the way I deserve to feel.
I now, like Michelle, dedicate myself and the majority of my writing energy to empowering women to create the well-being they deserve, to becoming their own advocates. I'm convinced within every cell of my body, that we are ultimately in charge of our well-being and joy. Our gut will point us in the right direction, to find the right answers and to connect with healing practitioners who honor our voice as women, as patients.
