We are living in a society that is truly afraid to eat. With all of the information at the fingertips regarding food consumption, it is surprising that we actually eat anything. If you are worried about eating fats, remember that it is not fat that is detrimental to your health, rather the type of fat consumed could cause health concerns if not consumed in moderation. “Aim to get most of your fat from foods rich in mono- and polyunsaturated fats (such as avocados, nuts, seeds and fatty fish)”, says Marjorie Nolan Cohn, RDN, spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
