Colleen describes how she handled hot flashes that occurred with the removal of her ovaries after her ovarian cancer diagnosis.
Colleen:
Well, I found out I was in the moderate to severe range of hot flashes. Sometimes it just stops me in my tracks, and I just recognize that it’s going to be over in a couple of minutes, and even though I am heating up and I am trying to stay calm, and I drink a lot of water. There’s not a whole lot that we can do, and I think that’s what’s difficult about menopause. There’s really isn't anything that you can do to try to control, other than getting some good daily exercise, good nutrition, recognizing things that might set it off, alcohol or just a crummy diet.
