I was in a severe car accident 6 months ago, I've had 3 MRIs on spine and have several back injuries, I've also had horrible pain in my left hip and left pelvic area, my doctor now feels I might have a pelvic fracture since my pain is only getting worse and I can barely walk and put weight on left leg. Since accident I've been doing everything like normal and just pushing through pain. Or ignoring it. If my hip or pelvic is fractured what kind of damage have I done by not knowing and continuing to doing everything like normal? When I should have been in a wheel chair or on crutches all this time. My pain in hip is so horrible now I can't function. I've been on meds for my back. But I only take the real pills once or twice a week. I don't want to have a habit of taking pain pills. Please any advice would help. And no I haven't settled with other driver at fault.

Dear Anon,
Thank you for reaching out to us. I'm sorry you are going through this.
Your doctor would know the extent of the damage. You should discuss this in detail with him, and about the recovery time involved which can be many weeks. The main thing, now, is to focus on getting well. Follow your doctor's instructions and give yourself the time to heal properly. Don't beat yourself about what happened. It won't help your recovery.
Keep us updated.
