Hello Anon
Thank you for writing.
A community mid-wife's role is generally seen in universal health care - something the United States doesn't have.
But his/her role includes prenatal care as needed and assisting in home births. Once a woman is pregnant, she will need to make an appointment with her midwife and receive care on a scheduled basis.
