I recently took a trip to see my sister. She's 46 and a smoker. My question to you is: Why would her two big toenails turn completely black?! She did not stub them and we are very concerned. What could this be?

- This happened over a period of two months.
- Her doctor sent her to a dermatologist who in turn sent her back to her doctor.
- Could it be melanoma?
