I am not taking the pill any longer as I don't like the idea of taking hormones. I am pleased that I have lost weight since quitting...I am now 128 LBS which is my "normal" weight and was about 135 on the pill. Also, i am less irritable and calmer in general.
The problem is, I absolutley cannot abide the sponge..I freaked out the two times that I tried it as I HATE having something so large deep inside of me and the strap doesn't help. Because of how I feel about the sponge I am guessing that I would also hate the diaphragm.
Both my fiancee and I hate condoms as he feels nothing with one on and takes forever to come so I am sore and chafed afterwards!
So far we are using the rhythm method and condoms on my most fertile days. We also often abstain when I am ovulating. My cycle is extremely regular.
So here is my question.....how likely might I be to get pregnant while using the rhythm method and abstaining or using condoms when I am ovulating? Oh...also I just turned 39.
I am not eager to become pregnant but if I do, my fiancee and I would see it as as happy sign and embrace it.
