I have read some great discussions on EmpowHer regarding health care reform, and am trying to educate myself on this topic. I believe *something* needs to be done, and am reading information on all of the pros/cons regarding what reform would entail.
I am having trouble finding concrete information that is not political or emotional (from both sides!) in nature. I believe we all are unhappy with the current health care system in many ways, and to have the opportunity for more choices sounds great. At what price do these choices cost, is perhaps the question.
If you are interested in debating this issue, you can read and participate in these two ongoing discussion threads:
- Health Care Reform: Health Care for Everyone
- Health Care Reform: Two Terms to Know
I wanted to provide a few resources that are easy-to-understand (with a liberal slant, again, have not been able to find anything that is not political-in-nature) for those of us who are just trying to learn the basics of health care reform. Hope you find these helpful, and I would love to read any other resources you find that are "just the facts" without a particular slant, and do not contain any aggressive or hateful messages targeted to either party; I have found it a real disappointment and turn off to not be able to read for the purpose of learning (and do not need to get emotionally charged from language use, when I am just learning the basics).
