april 2010, I got diagnosed with a multinodular, cystic thyroid gland. 1 nodule measuring 1.6 cm solid and heterogenous with cystic components and 2 cysts the largest measuring 0.7 cm. on the right lobe which measured 4.9 (L)x1.9 (AP)x1.6 (T)cm. The left lobe measured 4.6 x1.8 x1.6 cm. with 2 hypoechoic nodularities, the largest measuring 0.3 cm. the isthmus measured 0.3 in AP diameter. Exaclty a year later now April 2011--- 1 nodule measuring 0.8cm solid and heterogenous and hyperechoic, the sonogram reading says it is "new in the time interval" and a nodule measuring 0.5cm.with cystic components on the right lobe which NOW measured 6.0 (L)x1.9 (AP)x1.8 (T)cm. The left lobe measured 5.9x1.6 x1.9 cm. with 1 hypoechoic nodule measuring 0.3 cm. the isthmus measured 0.3 in AP diameter.. my thyroid levels are normal, last year they biopsied the largest nodules and were non-cancerous. what can that change in size in a year time frame mean? suggestions???
