If my period gets cut short everyone I use a tampon, does it mean there's something wrong with me?

For the past 3-4 months, I've been getting my period regularly, but lately, if I use a tampon it's almost like my period completely stops. I used to use tampons often and would need a pad for extra protection because my flow was too heavy. Now, the tampon is barely half filled with blood. What does that mean? Is there something wrong with me? I can't possibly be pregnant can I?
