I am 21 and weigh 170LBS and am 5'3" tall. I was diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) at the age of 18. I have literally tried just about everything to lose weight. A doctor not far from my home town was the HCG diet. Most people who have done it have lost tons of weight. A teacher of mine lost almost 100LBS after doing it. I injected HCG for 21 days, and lost 8LBS, and we were both not happy with that, so we waited and re did it again a few weeks later. After the second time I had lost an extra 4LBS. During the 6 months after, I was working out and writting down everything I ate as part of the program. We had to go in once a week to be weighed, have them look over our daily meal journal to make sure we were eating enough, and eating healthy. I gained just about 20 LBS in those 6 months, not to mention I didn't get my period for those 6 months. I tried many diets in the last couple years since then. Recently, I was working out for approximately 2-2.5 hours a day 5 days a week, and 1 hour on Saturdays and making Sundays my rest day. After 4 months I had 0 LBS and 0 inches to show for it. How frustrating! I used to eat at the most 600 calories a day, and when I decided to work out and I began forcing myself to eat more- roughly 1200 calories a day. I was also keeping a meal journal during these 4 months. Being thin is one of the most important things in my family, not just to my parents but grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins. This weight needs to come off, but it doesn't matter how strict I make my eating regimens and my dedication to working out the weight doesn't seem to come off. I carry most of the weight in my lower abdomen, therefore I try to cover myself up as much as possible to hide the wonderful muffin top. I am extremely embaressed about my weight, and get down on myself quite a bit because of my weight. My doctor keeps telling me to lose weight and that will help my PCOS, but the weight just isn't coming off.
What do you suggest I try next, short of making a lyposuction appointment?
