Two years ago this month I found a lump in my breast and was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer. My treatment involved a mastectomy, 16 rounds of chemotherapy, and 30 radiation treatments over a 10-month period. I'm not going to kid you -- it was tough. But here I am, two years later, looking and feeling the very picture of health. By the way, I also have multiple sclerosis.
Some might say I have had some pretty bad luck, but as I consider all I've been through, I can't help but be very grateful for my good fortune. I'm alive! These days, one of my greatest joys is speaking with people going through some of what I've experienced and helping them feel less alone.
