Just looking for some advice here - back in January I started experiencing some mild pain in my lower right quadrant (near my ovary)...no fever, and it didn't hurt to press on it so I thought maybe I tweaked something while exercising. I had a normal period that month - starting on January 25th. The pain has persisted since then, still mild, but a couple of weeks ago I started to feel achy in my lower back as well. I've also missed my last two periods. I have been on the BCP for 16 years and never missed a cycle! After the first missed period, I thought I was pregnant (I had skipped a couple of days and had to double up). I took a pregnancy test when I was 3 days late, and 8 days late, and both were negative. After my second missed period, I took another pregnancy test, which was negative once again. I went to the doctor to get a blood test done - also negative. She kind of blew me off, saying that the BCP can cause missed periods, and that the pain might be something with my GI tract (since I told her my stomach's also been a bit "grumbly" lately), or a small cyst. I'm now off the pill, to see if that helps "restart" my system. My next period is due around 4/19, but I realize it may not happen because I'm off the pill now.
I guess my question is - would you be concerned at this point? Should I call back if I miss a third period or just let it go for a while? She didn't feel anything unusual when she did my exam, but I still worry that there is something wrong. Having never missed a period in my life - and now I've missed two - is very unnerving! That along with the pain and discomfort in my abdomen/back has me concerned.
