Julianne Moore won Best Actress for
Still Alice
in the Best Leading Actress Category last night, Sunday February 22nd, at the 87th Annual Academy Awards.
Still Alice
is about a 50-year-old professor suffering from early-onset Alzheimer’s. Moore portrays the realness and severity of the disease through her character in the film based on Lisa Genova’s 2007 book of the same name.
"I'm so happy. I'm thrilled actually that we were able to hopefully shine a light on Alzheimer's disease," Moore stated as she accepted the award.
