All my life my levels of testosterone have been low. Now, at 55 years of age, menopause kicks in and my testosteron level is even lower than the least measurable count, resulting in fatigue, a real low depressed mood and a non existent libido. Over a year now my gynecologist and I have been searching for the right dose of supplement testosterone, as all the testosterone available medically is used for men and therefore much too high in dose. The one reliable research done on women shows that testosteron patches 300 mcg are effective, no more and no less than this quantity. Those patches are not available in the Netherlands and I believe it is the same for the rest of Europe.
In two weeks I'll be flying out to the US and I would like to find those patches (formerly) known by the name of Intrinsa there.
Can you help me with my search? I have called a pharmacist in Portland (where I'll be first) but she said she doesn't know it and couldn't help me any further.
Are testosterone supplements for women available in the US? Can you tell me more about it and about which approach I would need to take? I have my physicians approval and he said to let him know what information he should provide to move things along.
