I had a periods: July 13 to 19 and August 9 to 14. My cycle is usually every 27 days or so, I believe. The week of August 20 to 24 I detoxed and began working out (dancing, sit-ups etc,) at home. I had unprotected sex on August 15, 16, and 25. According to my period tracking app, my next period is scheduled for September 5 or 6. Around 10:30pm on September 1, I went to urinate and when I wiped I saw bright red blood! I wiped a second time but nothing was there. I immediately put a tampon in and conjured that it must be an early period due to detoxing. However, that "period" only lasted 2 days!!! That has never happened before. I was constipated for 4 days and experienced insomnia and consistent cramping. At the end of the second day, the tampon was dark red and brownish. On the day my period was supposed to come, the cramping increased but there was no blood flow or trace of blood when I wiped. My body feels like I'm on my period with symptoms of backache, neckache, headache etc. I am not experiencing nausea or swollen/sensitive breasts. The only outstanding symptom is my heightened sense of smell which is not a period symptom for me. I am also very emotional, moody, and get teary-eyed easily. A possible red flag. On September 6, I experienced light pink spotting every other time I went to urinate and wiped. I did not need to wear any sanitary napkin at all. Today is September 8 and according to the app, I am 3 days late if I don't consider the 2 day period an actual period. But if I do consider it a period then my next period should be coming October 2? I took a hpt and it came back negative. Could I be pregnant but tested too soon? Could detoxing change my cycle completely? Did anyone go through something similar and turned out to be pregnant? I want to know because I like drinking and have not been indulging because of this not knowing. Is it safe to drink a beer or a glass of wine while waiting? I'm so anxious and I honestly think a drink will calm my nerves a bit. What do you think?
