It all started with the Personal Healthcare Journal for Seniors.
My mother-in-law sees five different healthcare providers and was having trouble remembering who said what. After much research I created a tool to help her record and track her medical information. Check it out at www.mycarenecessities.com
The book has been out for just six weeks and the response has been amazing - not so much from the seniors but from the baby-boomer generation.
I learned that women even as young as 35 were wanting to keep a record of their healthcare visits. This completely surprised me and I really didn't expect it. So... the Personal Healthcare Journal for Seniors is back at the printer to re-print the covers. The new covers have a new title - Personal Healthcare Journal.
As a 45 year old celiac - in recent weeks I've discovered why younger women want to record their health information. Last week I went for my physical. In the past couple of years I have been diagnosed with celiac disease and have had a gastroscopy, numerous blood tests and more recently a bone density test. Now I'm being sent to have my first mammogram. If I don't record this information - how will I remember when I last had these tests?
Today I chatted with a fire/paramedic. He told me that you would not believe how many times they are called to an emergency and people have no idea what their loved ones are taking - making it much more difficult for quick diagnosis and treatment.
My hope and my goal is that every person would have a book to record their personal healthcare information. Just think how much quicker and more efficiently our doctor's and nurses could work to help us get better.
