These days, there's the Christine who since 2003 has called herself a survivor of an early onset form of Alzheimer's disease. It's the Christine that Wade prefers best.
At 59, Christine has journeyed to age 90 and back again. But with knowledge, she said, comes survival. "Alzheimer's disease has taken part of my life but not my hope," she wrote in her book, "Alzheimer's Averted: A Path to Survival."
"Physically, I have been able to slow or stop the progression enough to begin to heal. … Spiritually, I am learning to live and love again, to feel a part of the universal healing energy."
