Pain on left heel, inside, right on the edge of my heel. Painful throbbing, sharp, almost prevents me from walking. I pound around for 8-9 hrs a day at work. When I take my shoes off and put my foot on the floor, the pain is excruciating when I lift my foot up off the floor! I have an appt with foot Dr middle of Sept. Been to therapy, bought special socks to keep foot pointed up at night when sleeping, Advil. Nothing helps!

Dear Anon.
Thank you for posting.
*Heel pain is not usually caused by a single injury, such as a twist or fall, but rather the result of repetitive stress and pounding of the heel. A heel pain sufferer commonly feels pain either under the heel (plantar fasciitis) or just behind it (Achilles tendinitis). It's good you are seeing the doctor soon.
