It is fact that one always crave for something that he or she can’t have. There are many reasons for craving and we need to go deep into it to find out what is the one behind our cravings. These cravings can become a real issue if not handled timely. Cravings are something really ridiculous sometimes. Perhaps our body requires certain vitamins or minerals or something is missing and our bodies crave for it. Cravings are crazy as well so one need to take a step back to realize the situation. There are few very most seen reasons behind these cravings.
DEHYDRATION :
Thirst means your body is in need to have water and that you are dehydrated. Few people feel that they are hungry rather feeling their thirst. To silent your craving just takes a glass of water and drinks it.
TENSE LIFESTYLE :
It is very strange but true. When we are stressed and depressed due to certain issues in life or are unsatisfied with the things in our life, these can become reasons behind our cravings. We start eating without thinking about the calories or our requirements. Always remain tension free though difficult but you have to do this.
SEASONAL CHANGES :
We need to eat according to the seasonal changes. It is the great way to proceed with our eating habits. In summers when its heat outside, one can crave for something really cool and refreshing. The same way in winters, the cravings for soup or something warm is pertinent. Don’t go against this basic rule.
NUTRIENT ABSENCES :
This is the most common reason behind the cravings. In absence of many essential nutrients in our body, we may be more inclined towards the processed and fast foods to fulfill the missing requirement. In this case we will only accomplish the cravings without fulfilling the nutritive requirements. This way we would like to eat more as the deficiency of the certain nutrients is still there. The whole procedure will be ended in nothing but weight gain, unhealthy eating habits and a permanent deficiency of certain nutrients.
HORMONAL IMBALANCE :
This particular reason belongs to the girls. When they are in their periods, they crave for certain foods and want to have it more and more like chocolate.
FAVORITE FOODS :
It is also a biggest reason behind the cravings. Occasionally when we eat something, we start craving for this particular food. This gives us more relaxation and we get used to it and even want it more. For example when we are depressed we might think about eating it more anxiously. Be conscious and try to control your cravings. You may involve yourself in some constructive work that can lessen your anxiety.
One needs to make his or her way out from these cravings. You are the one who can do this, no one can be really helpful than your own self. These cravings can be really dangerous if not settled timely. Develop good and positive eating habits.

Hello jasmine_writer,
There is a biological and physiologic connection to cravings.
When our bodies have burned up the food in our stomachs and our blood sugar and insulin levels begin to drop, the hormone, ghrelin communicates with the hypothalamus in the brain.
The hypothalamus, housed in the deep center portion of our brain cavity, regulates our basic body functions such as thirst, sleep and sex drive. Once it receives the message, delivered by ghrelin, that we need to eat something to keep our bodies running, the hypothalamus triggers the release of neuropeptide Y, which stimulates our appetites.
Cravings for foods high in fat and calories are linked to our brains.
Fatty, sugary foods release chemicals called opioids into our bloodstream. Opioids bind to receptors in our brains and give us feelings of pleasure and even mild euphoria.
