I have not had sex since my last period. I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts about 6 month ago. Now this period (my 3rd period after being diagnosed)has yet to show up. 2 days late,as I usually start spotting on my Monday BC pill: cramping, bloated, tender breasts, diarrhea; my normal pms symptoms
I am on birth control (4 periods a year).
I just did a pregnancy test ,just to be sure, it's negitive - if I were pregnant I would be around 12 weeks by now.
p.s. - I am not going to my Dr, in a nutshell, she claimed I was pregnant when Blood and urine pregnancy test came back negitive - took the tests when I hadn't had sex in 2 months
Are skipped periods normal with ovarian cysts?

Hello AnnaS198
Thank you for writing!
The two most common symptoms of ovarian cysts are:
Pelvic pain
Menstrual bleeding
Pain is usually caused by:
Direct pressure from the cysts on the ovaries and surrounding structures
Causing chronic pelvic fullness or a dull ache
Bleeding from a cyst into and around the ovary
Causing more intense, sharp pain as the blood irritates the lining of the abdomen
Pain may come and go on a regular basis. Or, you may notice the pain more:
Just before or after your period
During sex
So a skipped period or late period is usually not a symptom but women can be late for many reasons, even on birth control. Since you are only two days late and have negative pregnancy tests as well as being on birth control, you're not pregnant. You also haven't had sex since your last period. I have no idea why your doctor said you were pregnant since your tests were negative - did you have a scan?
