I know how frustrating this can be .... While I didn't fall asleep from exhaustion during the day, I definitely was a walking zombie. And I haven't read the above books, but I did run myself through the standard causes for insomnia:

Too much caffeine -- I eliminated it almost completely;

Learned to relax -- Took up yoga;

Burned off excess energy: Started working out for to five days a week;

Cut out worrisome negativity -- As hard as it was, distanced myself from complainers and so-called energy vampires;

Made my bedroom a sanctuary (as the interior designers like to say) -- No television, dark curtains, soothing colors, etc.

One of my girlfriends recommended drinking a half glass of red wine or chamomile tea, which worked for me but may not work for everyone.

Another friend recommended trying a supplement made of Magnolia and Phellodendron, which also seemed to help. If you're looking for the name, PM me and I'll send you the info. (Don't want to run an advertisement here.)

Also, are you taking any medications that may interfere with sleep or do you suffer from physical pain, anxiety, or depression?
