This is so interesting, as I did not realize that more women experience PTSD because sexual assault is more likely to cause PTSD than other traumas (and, as we know, women are more likely to experience sexual assault).
The gender differences to cope with PTSD is also interesting. It sounds like if women are experiencing depression as a result of PTSD, that they are blaming themselves and looking more "inward". This contrasts men who use substances (alcohol or other drugs) to cope, which may indicate that they are trying to escape and avoid the experience.
And, the more I learn about depression, the more I wonder how many other medical conditions it is associated with, and even an underlying cause (or effect) of that condition.
