recommend X-rays, a CAT scan, or an ultrasound? If the doctor did say the appendix was ruptured, can you find out why he didn't perform/recommend surgery and opted to prescribe antibiotics? If your boyfriend was 'treated and released' at this particular hospital, I would definitely get him into see someone else, pronto.
