You bring up such a great point Alysia. A lot of women have experienced ovarian conditions. And with September being Ovarian Cancer Month, organizations like the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance are trying to bring awareness to those conditions, especially ovarian cancer. Many women aren't aware they may have ovarian cancer and usually don't find out until the disease is in advanced stages. September Is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month: Know Your Body, Know the Symptoms

Symptoms to be on the look out for are:

• bloating;
• pelvic and abdominal pain;
• difficulty eating or feeling full quickly;
• urinary symptoms (urgency or frequency).

The OCNA recommends seeing your doctor, preferably a gynecologist, if you have these symptoms almost daily for more than a few weeks. Experts suggest a combination pelvic/rectal exam, a transvaginal ultrasound and a CA-125 blood test.
