Be wary of IPL--I had several friends try it with very good results, so I invested the $1500 for the series of treatments. After the first treatment I had dark marks on my face wherever the light pulse had been. It is called mylasma and it was caused by the IPL, so now instead of just redness, I also have darkened skin in several places. It pretty much ruined my skin. This is a rare side-effect, but you need to be aware that it is a possibility and much more than just the one line about "slight darkening of skin" they include in the release you have to sign.
