Oh wow, I'm so glad to have found this blog! I can't believe how similar your story is to mine! First time sex, IC - terrible doctors hindering my healing process for 13 years (I'm UK and we're WAY behind the states).
I've only recently realised the Vulvodynia etc is not part of the IC, although I'm certain they're related. I also have PCOS, and HPV related cervix changes and I'm certain these are linked too. Thanks for pointing me in the direction of genuine help to start tackling this.
Also, for anyone struggling with IC pain, I bought Catherine M Simone's 'Along the healing path' and followed her plan, pretty closely. I went from sitting on the toilet with a bleeding bladder for 8 hs plus a day to being able to get a job and lead a normal life - and would recommend anyone to do the same.
