I agree that disposable diapers seem to be a great concern for the environment, but I haven't been able to make the switch to cloth or flushable diapers. I spend about $30-$60 on diapers a month. How much do these gDiapers cost per month?

Seventh Generation also makes a chlorine-free diaper (though, not flushable).

My concern with the gDiapers is the "swish stick". It sounds extremely unsanitary (like carrying around a toilet bowl brush in my baby's bag). I know I would not be able to locate the swish stick every time I needed to flush a simple diaper pad: in theory, it sounds good. In practice, it would be impractical.

So, I guess when I'm traveling I would use "traditional" disposable diapers, and other times would be these flushable kind. That seems to be a move in the right (environmentally-friendly) direction. What if I threw away the flushable diaper in a trash can: isn't that still more environmentally friendly than disposable (because of the material they're made from)?

thanks!
