I'm not sure, but let me do some research and find out.
And, honestly, I don't understand why the tech (or the doctor) couldn't tell you what they are looking for...it's your body, and patience has nothing to do with it. In my opinion, it has to do with having a good patient-doctor relationship, which includes the patient having information (the good, bad and ugly, as you said), in order for you to be well-informed and well-researched. I believe most doctors want this reciprocal relationship with their patients.
So..off of my soap box and onto finding you some answers!
