I totally agree with everyone about staying out of the sun and not smoking. I was a goth(!!!) so I wore thick white zinc on my face all through art college and at 38, I still get carded!!
It paid off to be a weirdo!! LOL!
I smoked a little bit but quit long before there were any effects.
On the other hand, genetics DO play a significant role. My Mother has had two cigarettes every day since she was 20(except while pregnant) and at 62, her skin is still remarkable; luminous and clear.
I just sometimes like to give myself a little boost, like having a great facial, a light peel(not the scary kind)and I truly believe that by eating great foods like wild salmon and leafy green and lots of fruit for a few day, one is bound to see benefits both in and out.
Personally, I am just integrating these foods into my usual diet and avoiding white flour, sugar, alcohol and other "bad" food temporarily.
I never eat dairy as I think it is not natural for adult humans to consume the milk of another animal and also, don't eat meat.
Surely if one can get positive effects from three days of healthy eating, it's not such a bad deal.
I also agree that sunscreen is your best friend. I have always used a 50 sunblock, even in winter!
