After scouring this site as well as others, I was desperate to fix my failed VBeam laser treatments for my venous lake. The VBeam made the skin around the lake bulge slightly and had just a little blanching of the skin. After countless hours of research, it looked the 1064 laser w/cooling would work. I went to a prominent laser surgeon in Washington, DC who agreed the 1064 would be the best approach. I'm on day 3 and it looks terrible. It's bigger, bulging and very dark with I think is bruising around the bulge. I've been reassured that the healing can take 4-6 weeks and that all the changes to the vascular area are happening but it takes a while. While I've read many success stories, I haven't heard any comments on the recovery period. Did most of the laser patients get bruised or cause the venous lake to get bigger? How long did it take for you to see results? I'm freaking out. I should have done nothing about the VL. It was relatively small and no one noticed it but me.
Please help!! What should I expect with my recovery? I'm so embarrassed to walk out of the house!
