DianeP, I hope you are right! Otherwise, it IS a sad day for women's lib. It seems though, that gen y'ers have quite a different take on sex and their bodies. They are very much influenced(in general)by pornography and how mainstream it has become in their lives. In knowing that fact, I find it, sadly, not incredibly surprising that a young woman would do something like this. Afterall, they are often quite comfortable with their boyfriend's use of pornography(demeaning as it is to women), the sexualisaton of music performers(seen MTV recently?)and the attendance of strip clubs. Many young women find all this behaviour glamorous. And I'm not an old fogey! I just see the difference between how 20 somethings think of their bodies and sex and how differently us 30 somethings view ourselves. Look at how popular "girls gone wild is"! How can they find SOOOO many young women who will preform for the camera. To me, the woman selling her virginity and the girl who flashes the camera are both prostituting themselves.
I don't think I am such an angel, but I would never have sold any part of myself for any amount of money for any reason.
