Anon - It would be helpful to go back to the start of this thread to read the many comments on the impact of various chemical hair straightening treatments. You should also do additional research. If you still want to undergo a chemical process this after doing your research, and still want to get your mom's approval, then it will help if you can provide information on the safety aspects and how you plan to make sure that any process or salon that you use is legitimate and will not be harmful. Your mom has valid reasons to be concerned, and you're not too young to learn how to research information and advocate for yourself. Good luck! Pat
