Great post to help raise awareness! Lets hope the VAP test becomes the 'standard' cholesterol type test. I agree that lipoprotein (a) is often ignored and rarely meantioned in articles.
I read a study last month that showed people with higher levels of lipoprotein (a), were more likely to have heart attacks. I hope as more studies like that reach doctors and patients, more people will start paying attention! Especially when they know the statins they take are not lowering this type of cholesterol.
This is the study review I wrote of the research that was published in the American Medical Association in June. Helping to spread the word!
