Wow, Tara, what a powerful story. How have you been since your transplant?
Anorexia is so scary. I recently overheard my 12-yr-old daughter and her girlfriends chatting and one of them commented, "She's so anorexic." And then they all giggled. I have no idea who they were referring to, or what exactly she meant by "anorexic," but the comment and subsequent giggling made me wince. Anorexia is so scary and not at all a laughing matter.
I'm so glad you recognized the reality of what anorexia was doing to you, and that you were able to take control. Have you had any issues pop up since then, like times when you're under stress and feel like resorting to old anorexic habits?
