I heard that it is better to NOT drink ANY liquids, except for beer or wine, while eating as they water down gastric juices and saliva which help to break down foods.
I have never drank liquids other than maybe a glass of wine while eating and have great digestion. Supposedly the alcohol helps the body to break the foods down well. But nothing does just as well.
Americans tend to drink terrible things with food like milk, coke, etc.. These are sooo bad for you! Maybe this is another reason why mainland Europeans suffer less form obesity, heart attacks and overweight??
