Some endurance athletes also like their coffee before a workout for the little extra boost of energy. One of my coaches, a well-known and respected former Olympian, must have his cup of coffee before his morning run. I find that, if I do that, I'll be running - for a different reason, lol!

A few of the refueling products I ingest during a long run contain caffeine. So, I might be achieving both a more energized workout plus other health benefits?
