What an interesting topic. Such is celebrity these days. I had never heard of Jade Goody, so this is the first time I am reading or thinking about her. But whatever the past, I think what she's doing now is pretty brave. Dealing with cancer, getting a bad prognosis, and learning that you are going to die would send many people into their shell for protection. She is at her most vulnerable right now.
Even though she's clearly not the type to ordinarily be reserved or private, she has to be incredibly upset at the thought of leaving her boys, and to show these last weeks with them is pretty amazing. I imagine that as her time draws closer, and then even after she dies, perhaps her critics will quiet a little, especially as stories come out about other women's lives she may have saved by getting them to go get a pelvic exam and pap smear.
It will be interesting to watch what happens in Britain.
