Hi,
Are you referring to testing your blood glucose level at home, and after fasting, you have a 160 mg/dl? What type of fasting did you do, and for how long? Have you been diagnosed with diabetes or pre-diabetes?

Usually, a "normal" fasting blood glucose level is less than 110 mg/dl.

It is important to obtain a reading from your doctor, and if that reading is considered in the range of "above normal", they likely will perform a second reading to confirm a diagnosis of pre-diabetes or diabetes.

You can read more about blood glucose screening levels at the American Diabetes Association website.

Are you at risk for developing diabetes? You can determine your level of risk at the Onlilne Diabetes Risk Test.

Do you have any further questions that we can help you with?
