You know, I really can't stand reality tv shows -- they bore me for some reason. I don't get the shock value either. You bring up an interesting topic regarding blogging and sharing your story for anyone out there to read. When I started my blog on PPD a couple of years ago, I was extremely hesitant even to use my name or put my photo up. But once I got started, I realized that I wanted it to be authentic, as my intentions were pure -- to spread awareness and hopefully reach moms out there who are suffering and need help and information. I felt like taking that leap of "going public" with my own personal story of PPD was completely worth it if I touched and helped one life. And those are the kinds of web sites/blogs that I'm most interested in -- that are sincere in their mission. I don't get the people who simply post the most mundane parts of their lives, and actually have a following. Makes me sad for society.
