I asked my doctor about that and he pretty much hinted around that I was probably cheated on because I was a virgin when I met boyfriend. A man can carry the virus but doesn't get any symptoms. The woman can get cervical cancer. If you get regular screenings then they can catch it in time. I had to get a leep procedure done because they found pre-cancerous cells on my cervix. Unfortunately there's nothing you can do once you get it. I was told that a child will not get the virus during child birth. Unless it's the herpes type HPV. There are over 20 types of HPV. If you do get herpes they highly recommend a c-section.
